Samsung's Galaxy Note II: Coming to Five US Carriers in Mid-November

We recently spent some hands on time with the Galaxy Note II, Samsung's new 5.5-inch Jelly Bean equipped Android smartphone/minitablet. The Note II runs a 32nm 1.6GHz quad-core Exynos 4 part and features 2GB of memory. Like the original Note, the integrated S Pen is one of the major selling points of the Note II (in addition to its larger-than-life size).
During our hands on Samsung told us that US carrier details were forthcoming, and the Note II would likely follow the Galaxy S 3 in being fairly consistent between international and US versions. Today we got our next piece of information: the Galaxy Note II will arrive on five major US carriers by mid November. AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon and US Cellular are all getting the device. Details on pricing and exact configuration on each carrier is unknown at this point, but we're getting there.

The fact that this is going to be available as soon as November means that it's definitely back on my short list. Yeah, maybe it'll look a little dorky up next to my head, but I've spent maybe two hours talking on the phone in the last two weeks. Yup... I love my GS3, but I have to admit I really want a note2 and part of me wishes I waited. Then again, the S4 and Note 3 are right around the corner and they will be even faster and probably higher res.TrackSmart - Wednesday, September 19, 2012 - link
I just got my Galaxy S3 yesterday. My first thought when I saw this was, "oh no!", but thinking more about it, I prefer the smaller form-factor. It's got the same screen resolution as the Note 2, but it is still usable with one hand (just barely). And I can live without the S-pen.When the Note 2 allows me to efficiently mark-up MS Word, Excel, and Adobe PDF documents while on the go, and automatically turns my scribbles into typed comments that can be shared with colleagues, then I will reconsider. The S-pen has tons of potential, but is mostly an 'extra' rather than a 'must have' feature right now.

The S3 launched in May, just as the S2 launched in May. So the S4 will, at the latest, launch in May. Considering that a new SoC generation with the Exynos 5 is just around the corner and will bring huge performance improvements, they might show a revised version a bit earlier.retrospooty - Wednesday, September 19, 2012 - link
No, the iPhone 6 with hopefully a larger than 4 inch screen is at least a year out. The S2 and S3 were MAy, and there are hinst that an S4 will come earlier this time. There will always be something around the corner. If a launch is close at hand, sure, wait it out. But for those with subsisized handsets, it doesn't make sense to wait more than a month or two. The only exception being iPhone users, or brand loyalists, because their new phones only appear about once per year. For android, you might as well enjoy something sooner AND get your next upgrade a couple of months sooner, too. Over time, you will have enjoyed better devices for more of your contract time. On top of must list. \m/I just hope that I can use a family members upgrade to get this. When this comes out I will still have 9 months left before my upgrade.

These phones rock. Since I have AT&T, I'll likely get the Note 2 with 4GLTE when they finally roll it out. I have a graphics design firm and think it would be great for viewing images of my work in such a large format before sending it to my Atlanta clients. I now seem to require 4GLTE but iPhones are just too small!
