Hard work is something I very strongly believe in and it's valuing hard work that has pushed me every day with AnandTech. Regardless of the circumstances I always want to do the best I can and work as hard as I can, especially at tradeshows. That's why you'll never see me at tradeshow parties (unless our sales guys force me to go and even then it's for a few minutes) and you'll always find me back in my hotel room as soon as possible writing up coverage for you all. It's something I feel that I owe to all AnandTech readers and it's something that I unfortunately feel like I've let everyone down with at this year's CES.
I mentioned before that I was sick before going down to NC for the holidays, well I never shook the mild flu I had. I got better for two days while I was down in NC but then I pushed it a bit too far and had a bit of a relapse. Then after driving back to CT and catching a flight to Vegas a day later, things didn't improve. Thankfully I've had Vinney to take care of me but I've also tried my best not to cancel any meetings and still give 100% at the show. I'm writing this now because of the overwhelming guilt of choosing sleep tonight over finishing up CES coverage from the past two days - I know it may sound silly but it's honestly how I feel. I'm sure most of you will think I'm just making too big a deal out of it, but AnandTech has been such a joy for me for the past 8 years and it's been made possible by the millions of AT readers - all of whom I'm greatly indebted to - and when situations like this come up I can't help but feel guilty.
I've set my alarm for an hour earlier than I'd normally get up to make my 9AM meeting tomorrow with hopes that I'll be feeling a little better so that I can quickly write up my CES coverage. I hate making promises I'm not sure I can keep so I won't give you that, but just know that I'm here at CES working hard and as best as possible given the circumstances.
That being said, there's a lot that's interesting here and I will be bringing it to you all asap.

You’re not going to do your readers any favors by over extending yourself. The more you push yourself while sick the less you'll be able to concentrate on what you have learned while your there. I once had the flu while studying for 2 finals, the hardest one I basically blew off and studied the bare essentials and the other was easy and I studied all the material. I did twice as well on the final that I focused on just the important stuff, I almost failed the other! Rest and get well!!!!dynamicx - Sunday, January 9, 2005 - link

For the love of Mike, how many times have we been over this in the last 6 or 7 years? If you're sick, take some time off, get some bed-rest, and get better. Not only are you The Boss so you can obviously get away with it, but the site won't break down if you're AWOL for a few days. We'd rather have you alive & alert 95% of the time than run down 100% of the time. Your notes on CES aren't going anywhere, so just get better and then get back to work.And Vinney, you need to put your foot down and stop him from time to time. Anand will work himself to death if given the chance, please don't let him.;-)

And when you're completly recover, worry about those little things. Hey it's not time what impresess me from this site, its the quality. And im sure many others, think the same way.

Take care.I always hate those east coast-west coast trips. They always drain you, even when you start off feeling well. I can just imagine what it's like when you start off sick.
I would recommend staying a day or two extra after CES, to rest, before flying back.

Don't worry so much about the CES coverage. Get better I believe the all of the 8 posts before me say the same you have done an amazing job with anandtech and you are not feeling well for like the first time in who knows how long. Feel better we can wait for the article. Also try to enjoy the show and relax having you stress about making us wait will not help your health and the whole site needs you alive.
