OCZ sent over a set of their new 1GB modules for the G5, I'll be playing around with them next week and post my findings here.
Memory testing on the Mac is a bit different than what I'm used to on the PC: we're not testing for overclocking headroom or speed, rather just stability and price :)
More on this when I get back....

I would love to know how to OC a dual G5. switch a few resistors around and viola, make a 1.8 into a 2 gig. Schweet. The Placid Casual - Saturday, April 10, 2004 - link

Great, Anand! We are all eagerly awaiting your Mac section!Anand Lal Shimpi - Friday, April 9, 2004 - link
Adam KThe benefits are density (1GB modules will let you reach 8GB in a 2P G5) and that, if they work well, there's yet another competitor in the G5 memory market. The prices on G5 memory are ridiculous, the more competitors the merrier.
Take care,
Anand

Find a way to overclock this beast then!Anonymous - Friday, April 9, 2004 - link
Seeing your comments on the G5 maxed out with 2GB modules would great."After a month of heavy multitasking... 16GBs is beginning to feel a bit tight. I've only got a couple GBs left free..."

Anand; Are there any benefits to these modules, except their size?
