I've been living here since the end of July, and I finally got screens for my windows - meaning I can open my windows and enjoy the remaining days of North Carolina Fall before it gets too cold. I would've just opened them without the screens but then some of North Carolina's wonderfully large bugs would have decided to pay me a visit. I swear, humidity attracts the weirdest flying creatures. Any bug I have to use a car to kill doesn't need to be flying around the house :)
Thanks for all of the responses to my last blog, we're trying to incorporate as many of your requests into Part 3 as possible but please understand there's no way we can accomodate them all (at least in this review). For those that are curious, yes the 9700 Pro made it in :)
I've got painters and the screen guy here now so I have to go tend to them, and then I also have my friend Olivia coming over for lunch. Olivia was just recently engaged so congrats to her and her new hubby-to-be, Ben (longtime friend of mine, you may have heard me mention him if you've been reading for the past 6 years).
I do have one question before I depart; how many of you live in the Connecticut area? I'm interesting in any suggestions for good areas to live in CT. Let me know.

If Anand is going to be in the YALE/New Haven area, traffic is the biggest problem. I-95 is horrible, but as you head north on I-91 it gets better. Rocky Hill, Southington, Wallingford, and some points east are nice and not as over-priced as the Gold Coast.I live in the Northeast, or 'armpit' of CT to Fairfield county, but it's the new area for people going to Boston but not wanting to deal with Mass.

Ct is a great place to raise a family and not so great if you are single. Boston and NYC is close. Stay away fro Fairfield County, stamford, fairfield. It is traffic chokenpuke.Hartford Burbs are cool. I live in Glastonbury 5 miles southeast of Htfd. I like Rocky Hill amd south Windsor better not as snobby. Too late kids are already in schools. Great Schools in Ct.

I grew up in a small town in CT called Winsted. Theres a nice lake named Highland Lake, swimming, diving, fishing, and water skiing. Gets pretty cold in the winter lots of snow skiing and sledding, can ice skate or fish on the frozen lake.Anonymous - Friday, October 17, 2003 - link

Yo, man... The only 3 reasons I can think of living in CT are:1.) Run away from Hurricanes A-Z.
2.) *Possible*(?) economic advantages
3.) North Caro must be another name for Hell.
I've been living here for 3 yrs., 1 wk., 1 day... And I don't really like it here. But I guess that's just coming from a Seattle-ite that's homesick.
If you're adamant on coming up here, the affluent people tend to live near NY, or Avon/Simsbury. I'm not sure how comfortable you'll be in Avon/Simsbury, but obviously the closer you live to NY, the more metropolitan it gets. Hartford is ghetto as hell-- quite possibly the 3-ring of hell itself.
I dunno man... I'd stay away from here if I were you. On the flip-side the trip up here might increase my chance to meet the great Anand Lal Shimpi!
